Louise Burrows to Jersey Finance

Jersey Finance has appointed Louise Burrows as its new Head of Marketing. As part of Jersey Finance’s leadership team, in her new role Louise will take on overall responsibility for the organisation’s marketing department, including brand, communications, events and its digital platforms. She takes over the role from Claire Lyons, who led Jersey Finance’s marketing team for almost four years.

Louise has more than 20 years of experience in marketing, including in financial institutions HSBC and Deutsche Bank. Formerly a Head of Marketing across the Crown Dependencies for a telecommunications and data centre company, she joined Jersey Finance in 2020 as a communications manager before gaining the Head of Marketing role.

Louise also holds the Chartered Institute of Marketing Postgraduate qualification in Marketing.

Commenting on Louise’s appointment, Joe Moynihan, Chief Executive of Jersey Finance, said:

“Louise brings with her a wealth of marketing and, specifically, financial communications experience. Over the past two years she has already become an instrumental part of the Jersey Finance team and, combined with her drive and vision, we are delighted to have her lead our busy marketing department as we continue to promote Jersey as a financial services centre of excellence.

“I’d like to extend my thanks to Claire Lyons, who has been a key part of our team for more than seven years, most recently leading our marketing efforts during a period of significant uncertainty. I wish her well in her future endeavours.”

In tandem with Louise’s appointment, Mialy Oporia has also been promoted to Senior Communications Manager. Mialy has worked as communications manager at Jersey Finance since 2017 and has more than 15 years’ experience in the industry, including in London where she managed local government communication and campaign programmes as well as managing communications for global retail brands.

Her current role will see her specifically support Jersey Finance’s burgeoning relationships in Africa and Asia. Mialy is Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) qualified and is currently a serving committee member of the CIPR Channel Islands Group.

Louise added: “I am really excited to have been appointed to the role of Head of Marketing at Jersey Finance and I’m looking forward to continuing to work with the marketing team and support the wider Jersey Finance team in what remains a hugely challenging and complex international financial landscape. We have a fantastic story to tell, however, and I firmly believe that this is a great opportunity for Jersey to further cement its reputation as a robust, high-quality international finance centre.”
