Don’t Miss Durrell Day!

We all share an affinity for Durrell and there are few of you that haven’t been to see the animals or watched an Oddsocks show in the wonderful grounds. As we’ve reported in previous months, Durrell Day will see Durrell celebrating 25 years.

Durrell Day is set to be one of the highlights of the summer as the Trust looks to thank Jersey residents for their passionate support over the past 50 years, enabling Durrell to continue work to save species from extinction. The wildlife park will be divided into four zones for the day: Jersey, Durrell Memorabilia, Conservation and Corfu zones, enabling visitors to enjoy new experiences as well as the wide variety of animals and stunning grounds.

Exciting activities for the day include den building, a Genuine Jersey fair, walks and talks with Durrell experts, a memorabilia exhibition and Greek themed food and drink in celebration of Gerald Durrell’s childhood home, Corfu.

Poster creation winners

To help promote Durrell Day, Jersey school children are being asked to create a poster that represents their best memory or favourite animal at Durrell. Winners of the competition will receive a digital camera and see their artwork displayed on posters around the Island.

Recycling World Record Attempt

Durrell, inspired by JTC Group, will also be looking to break a Guinness World Record on the day by recycling the most aluminium cans on the Sunday so please take 50 crushed cans with you when you go up!
Sunday 14th July,

Time: 10.00am – 4.00pm, both days

Price: Special price only £5 for adults & FREE for children
