Asset Management Team recognised in Citywire Awards
Standard Bank’s Jersey based Asset Management team has been shortlisted in three categories in this year’s Citywire Wealth Manager Performance Awards. Judged on its three year risk-adjusted performance from July 2007 to June 2010, Standard Bank Jersey is one of 48 firms that entered the awards but the only Jersey based investment team to be shortlisted. The Bank’s performance was recognised in the Balanced Portfolio, Cautious Portfolio and Best Small Firm categories.
Haydn Taylor, Head of Institutional Clients at Standard Bank, said: “These awards are highly regarded in the discretionary investment manager sector. Using Asset Risk Consultants methodology, they ensure that a pure test of investment skill is applied and we are delighted to be recognised as one of the most skilled investment managers in this field. It is a great accolade for Standard Bank Jersey and a tremendous achievement for our Asset Management team who have autonomy in investment decision making which is carried out here in Jersey. We are very pleased that the strategies for which we have been recognised are particularly appropriate to the Trustee community in the island. We manage a significant number of portfolios for a large number of locally based Trust Companies and Private Trusts in addition to a thriving number of Private Clients, both local and internationally based, developed by a longstanding team with a 20 year history.”
He added: “ What these awards demonstrate is that our team is able to compete with some very established names in the investment industry and indeed to outpace them during what has been a very challenging time from an investment perspective.”
