What did you want to be when you were 8 years old?
Radio Presenter
Favourite way to relax
It would be hard to choose one. I love cooking, a personal achievement would be winning the Macmillan bake off at Mourant. As much as I enjoy cooking, I also enjoy going to the gym to relax, often going to BoxinBusiness (conveniently opposite the Mourant office).
Favourite possession
A ring I received from my parents for my 21st birthday.
What made you choose to work for Mourant?
When considering graduate opportunities in Jersey, I was attracted to the friendly approach at Mourant as well as it being a reputable and growing firm. I was interested in the idea of working closely with law firm colleagues and since joining it feels like an exciting time in the business as Mourant Governance Services grows alongside the law firm. From my first day at Mourant, I felt like I’d made the right decision and that it is the best place for me.
What professional training have you done?
Mourant is fully supportive of professional development and I’m currently doing my CGI Level 4 Certificate in International Finance and Administration at Chapter One.
What do you do on an average day?
There is no average day, which is what I like about it! My role is ever changing in response to clients’ needs and I continually adapt in order to support my team. I frequently attend meetings, assist in onboarding and creation of new companies and act as the first point of contact for a varied portfolio of entities.
What is your next step?
I’m always looking for new opportunities and ways to grow and develop. My focus at the moment, is to finish my CGI Level 4 Certificate in International Finance and Administration whilst progressing in my role.
What advice would you give yourself as a graduate considering the experience you have now?
Gain more experience in the finance industry. If I could go back to university, I would sign up to summer schemes and take advantage of what firms have in place for students to get ahead! This gives you the chance to explore different teams and get a feel for what type of role you might be interested in as a graduate.
