When it came time for their elderly neighbours to move out of the flat below them ,  Gina and Harry Carey were offered first refusal on the purchase. They saw the potential to transform the property back to a substantial family home and set about creating a perfect beach front dwelling.

With a beach front location, the canvas was perfect and with some hard work the two flats were combined and transformed back in to the original house.  In 2005, the whole interior of the  house was renovated.

A maze of rooms downstairs were done away with and the structure of the main living area has now become an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area, tied together by a central feature chimney breast. The open plan area downstairs  affords beautiful views across St Aubins bay and the garden gives direct access onto the promenade and beach.

As part of the process the house was completely stripped and everything inside was replaced,  from the wiring to plumbing and oil fired central heating.

The newly created property now has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a unique looking detached garage with two rooms above, which many years ago was used as a summer let. There is also parking for three cars at the front of the property.

Although the front of the house had originally been on the road side, the proximity to the cycle track and beach has meant that many homes along the section of beach now treat the rear of their properties as their focus.

Gina and Harry?s neighbours inform us that German troops were billeted in the property during the occupation and doorways connected the property to three adjoining houses!

The location at Beaumont is superb. Positioned a stone?s throw from the Gunsite cafe, you are only a short distance from town with  regular bus routes almost on your door step. In addition there is a Co-op store just around the corner, two pubs and the Bistro Soleil in close proximity. St Aubin is just a fifteen minute walk away.

You may wonder why the property is on the market and how anyone could want to leave such a great area. Gina seems to agree but with a young daughter, the couple dream of a huge garden and have never really felt they needed a sea front location.

The property has a great deal of further potential for development for it?s new owners, the garden, currently paved, is ample and the unique outbuilding has a great deal of charm and could be redeveloped for a number of purposes.
